Does asphalt have a higher softening point and greater hardness?

2022-09-04 09:31:00
The hardness of asphalt should correspond to the index of "penetration". Generally speaking, the smaller the penetration, the more difficult it is for the needle to fall, that is, the harder it is. In a broad range, it can be said that the higher the softening point of the asphalt, the smaller the corresponding penetration, that is, the greater the hardness. However, it cannot be generalized in a general way. For example, there are two unknown samples here, and the hardness is higher if the softening point is high. This is incorrect. It can be considered in the opposite direction. Various modified and unmodified asphalt with a penetration rate of 50 are tens of millions, and the softening point is obviously very different. At this point, of course, it cannot be said that the hardness is higher if the softening point is high.
